Emergency adjustments activate under specific conditions: 7 days if the network reaches 4x target blocktime with at least 256 blocks mined, or 14 days maximum under normal slow conditions. The halving schedule operates on 210,000 epoch intervals, ensuring sustainable long-term emission.
